GSO builds its own sparker systems that have proven to be very reliable sound energy sources. They produce a very stable sound pulse with highly repeatable pulse signature.

GSO has in the rental pool a series of in-house designed and 3rd party sparker systems. Each system comprises a sparker acoustic energy source with power cable and ancillaries and a pulsed power supply (PPS)
In addition single channel and/or multi-channel streamers and signal recording and processing systems can be provided.

All equipment is maintained by our own personnel.

Manufacturing and Innovation

GSO builds its own sparker systems that have proven to be very reliable sound energy sources. They produce a very stable sound pulse with highly repeatable pulse signature. GSO sparkers feature dual planar 90 tip array electrode modules. Up to six connected electrode modules allow the energy from the HV pulsed power supply to be distributed evenly over 90 to 540 tips in 90 tip steps. Depending on HV cable configuration, high-frequency data acquisition using the upper electrode arrangement can be selected or low-frequency data acquisition with the lower electrode arrangement. Both arrangements can also be fired simultaneously to achieve a broad frequency content.

GSO has introduced to the market a new approach in sparker electrode design and manufacturing.
Starting out with a simple idea it has developed into an extremely stable and repeatable acoustic energy source. These new electrodes are currently applied in GSO sparker systems in use on many projects worldwide.

The unique design of the electrode modules makes the sparker essentially maintenance free. After many hours of continuous operation only a light cleaning is required to remove a superficial ferrous oxide staining.
